Milliken and Johnstown Historical Societies Fall Program

In September of 2013, this area was hit by extreme flooding that left an unforgettable memory on the Colorado residents of Milliken and Johnstown.

To commemorate the ten year anniversary of this occurrence the Historical Societies of Johnstown and Milliken hosted an informative program open to the public.


Speakers: Becky Selby (Milliken/Johnstown Food Pantry), Cheryl Powell and Caree Rinebarger (Town of Milliken), Bill Selby (Milliken/Johnstown Food Pantry), Chad Young (Commentator), Milt Takunaga (Former Milliken Mayor), Benito Garcia (MPD), Bernie Covillo (FRFD)


Troop Banners

Milliken Historical Society has begun the process of displaying Military Banners of any veteran that has been a resident of Milliken, CO at any time. The first four banners are of WWI and WWII veterans that were killed in action. Banners will be displayed on the light poles along Broad Street. 


This banner is of Lester March who was the first casualty from Weld County during WWI. Banners will be displayed at least from Memorial Day to Veterans Day each year.
